Paddy Power Unveils One of Sports’ Biggest Ever Charity Partnerships

Paddy Power Won’t Change The Odds But Will Help 1 in 8 Men Beat Prostate Cancer

Partnership with Prostate Cancer UK and PDC to Bring Man of Men Campaign to World Stage

Paddy Power, the world’s largest sports betting operator, has today announced a landmark charity partnership with Prostate Cancer UK, the UK’s leading men’s health charity, and the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), the governing body for professional darts worldwide.

The three-year agreement will see Paddy Power become the “Official Betting Partner” of Prostate Cancer UK and will see the launch of a series of fundraising initiatives designed to raise awareness and much-needed funds for the charity’s life-saving work.

The pinnacle of the partnership will be the “Beat 180” fundraising initiative, which will see Paddy Power donate £1,000 for every 180 score recorded at the 2023 Cazoo World Darts Championship. The 180 is the maximum score in darts and is achieved by hitting the treble 20 section of the dartboard three times in succession. With an average of over 3,000 180s hit at the World Championship each year, the initiative has the potential to raise over £3 million for Prostate Cancer UK.

In addition to the Beat 180 initiative, Paddy Power will also be launching a range of other fundraising activities, including the sale of Prostate Cancer UK merchandise, the development of bespoke betting products, and the creation of a dedicated Paddy Power Prostate Cancer UK website.

The partnership will also see the iconic “Man of Men” pin badge, which has been worn by a wide range of darts players in recent years in support of Prostate Cancer UK, become a key symbol of the partnership. The badge will be worn by all PDC players at the 2023 Cazoo World Darts Championship and will be available to purchase from the Prostate Cancer UK website.

Paddy Power’s partnership with Prostate Cancer UK is the latest in a long line of charitable initiatives from the company. In recent years, Paddy Power has donated over £50 million to a range of charities, including the Irish Cancer Society, the British Heart Foundation, and the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Commenting on the partnership, Paddy Power CEO Conor Grant said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Prostate Cancer UK and the PDC. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men in the UK, and we want to do everything we can to help raise awareness and funds for this vital charity.”

“The Beat 180 initiative is a unique and exciting way to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. We know that darts fans are passionate about the sport, and we hope that they will get behind this initiative and help us to make a real difference to the lives of men affected by prostate cancer.”

Prostate Cancer UK CEO Angela Culhane said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Paddy Power and the PDC. This partnership will help us to reach a new audience with our message about prostate cancer, and we hope that it will encourage more men to take action to protect their health.”
